VOLKANO

The transition from childhood to adulthood is an inevitable fact of life. However, the German artist Volkano portrays this transformative loss of innocence in an honest and raw manner that is rarely seen.

By creating an artistic ritual universe, such as through depictions of children carrying dead birds or walking blindfolded with wings, Volkano captures the universal and timeless complexity of growing up.

His artistic universe reveals the loss of softness as a direct consequence of entering adulthood. Clinging to the spirit of a child is a hopeless struggle that nonetheless evokes a longing for the past.

His current works will appear once the show opens…
