JENS RAUSCH

In his works, Jens Rausch engages with natural cycles and processes. In the painterly-artistic process, he employs materials such as ash, bitumen, iron oxide, fire, and soot—materials that themselves originate from or trigger transformational processes.

The element of chance plays an important role in this context: triggered and partially self-perpetuating processes that can only be controlled to a limited extent are utilized by Jens Rausch in such a way that he enters into a material-artistic dialogue.

Natural processes, specific material properties, and the generated chance to which he refers are combined in his works to form a complex unity that correlates with the respective image motif.

His current works will appear once the show opens…
